How to become a driving instructor in Queensland

If you’re not yet accredited as a driving instructor in Queensland, we can help you understand the process and connect you with the right training.

1. Complete the required driving instructor training

You’ll need to complete an approved driving instructor course that covers both practical and theoretical components. This training prepares you to teach learner drivers safely and effectively.

2. Apply for your industry authority

Once your training is complete, you apply for the relevant industry authority through the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). This allows you to legally work as a driving instructor in Queensland.

3. Join Coastwide Driving School

After you’re accredited, we make it easy to get started. We onboard you into our systems, introduce you to our processes and help you begin taking students as quickly as possible.
