Beginner and refresher lessons

Start with the controls or return to the skills you'd like to improve. Tell us what you've practised and what still feels difficult. It's fine to ask for an explanation again.

Our lessons for nervous learners explain the support available if you're feeling unsure about driving.

Before you book

Do you offer automatic and manual lessons?

Yes, in dual-control vehicles. Check the instructor's transmission and service area before selecting a lesson.

Can you help with Queensland test preparation?

Yes. Mock tests and feedback can help you recognise recurring errors and plan further practice. Preparation develops skills for the test and for everyday driving; it doesn't guarantee a pass.

How long are driving lessons?

Most lessons are 60 to 90 minutes. Confirm the duration offered by your instructor and check current lesson packages when planning your lessons.

Are your instructors accredited?

Coastwide's driving instructors are Queensland-accredited. Tell us about your experience and any support you need so we can help you consider a suitable instructor.
