Our teen already had over 100 hours at 6months, however we hadn’t done any reverse parallel parking. We booked a session with Patrick, he was very friendly and calm, and had our teen doing reverse parking on Oxford St Bulimba on that session - many an experienced driver panics with the pressure on that street.
The week of her exam, we booked a 3 pack with a dedicated parking, general and a mock exam- this was worthwhile, as she was able to go into her exam the next day with confidence, and passed without any incident.
Patrick as an instructor has been great, very supportive, helpful and friendly.
The admin team behind the scenes were also brilliant helping me navigate a few technical issues and bloopers I made in the booking process.

It was an incredible experience and would highly recommend this driving school to anyone. I had Patrick as my instructor who gave incredible guidance and was super kind and helpful. He taught me everything I needed to know before the test and I felt super prepared.

Patrick is a superlative instructor who consistently goes above and beyond for his students. Unfailingly calm, constructive and endlessly forbearing, he has the patience to answer constant questions and remains unflappable when faced by the learner’s repeated errors and moments of dismay. His highly effective pedagogical method trains the learner to scan actively for potential problems and react appropriately in time where necessary. He has a deep knowledge of Brisbane and the wider region’s roads and potential problem areas which he imparts with generosity. Beyond his exceptional technical and human skills as an instructor, he is an interesting person with a delightfully dry sense of humour with whom it is a true joy to ride while learning to drive. I would highly recommend him to learners of all ages and learning styles. Despite being a preoccupied older learner, I managed to pass my P plates on the first try after a month of intensive lessons. I could not have done it without his guidance, kindness and humour.

Coastwide driving team are incredible in ensuring everything is organised and handled perfectly on test day when you book a car with them for the test.
I had driving lessons with Patrick and honestly couldn't have asked for a better instructor than him he is patient, considerate, calm, and amazing.

Had 2 lessons with Patrick in the lead up to my driving test at Greenslopes. Despite Greenslopes’ reputation for tricky test routes, I passed first go. I do believe this is largely due to his knowledge regarding lesser-known/more easily forgotten road rules and actionable advice for manoeuvres. Can’t recommend him enough

I can highly recommend Patrick at Coastwide. Both my son and daughter have had driving lessons from Patrick over the last two years. They both really liked Patrick. He was patient, kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. And very importantly they both passed their Ps test the first time!

Patrick is an incredibly patient and supportive driving instructor, and it’s clear he genuinely loves what he does. His communication is excellent, his guidance is clear and reassuring, and he gave my daughter the confidence and skills she needed to pass her licence test on her first attempt.

Patrick was very patient, supportive, and encouraging during the lesson - and made sure to teach me everything I needed to know for my test in the limited time we had. He helped me with my manoeuvre techniques, and provided very detailed guidance that I could have only learnt through his extensive experience!
I was recommended to Coastwide Driving School by a friend, and he strongly suggested booking in a practice test before I went for my official test.
Best decision ever! I felt a lot more confident after my lesson with Patrick, and was able to ask many questions during the practice test too - to ensure I was fully prepared. Please do pass this feedback on to Patrick, as I am very grateful and appreciative.
Fast forward 2 days, I just completed my official drivers test in Wynnum and passed! I was able to succeed with no minor errors either, the examiner said it was a perfect drive. This is all thanks to Patrick's tips and tricks.

Patrick was a great instructor, especially for an anxious driver. He was really calm and patient, which made for a relaxed learning environment. He helped me get confident enough to re-take the test after a few years of not driving, and I passed. Very grateful to him for taking the time to explain the reasoning behind why/how things work, placing an emphasis on safety, and supporting me to keep trying until I got more comfortable. Definitely recommend.

My daughter logged over 100 hours in her Mazda 2 but failed the initial driving test. Patrick at Coastwide had a newer Mazda 2 and was kind enough to teach a bit further south. The 3 lessons and test package was ideal and Patrick the ideal instructor. He smoothed out the rough edges and my daughter passed. I noticed at Coastwide there is a team effort. Joshua has an excellent telephone manner and Glen also turned up on test day for good luck. I would highly recommend instead of using your own car to book the 3 lesson/test package from Coastwide. Your chances of passing the first time will be better.

I will be recommending him to my other freinds that haven't got thier licence yet, as he's patient and has alot of useful information to make smooth manoevers and he isn't a instructor that takes over your breaking unless he really needs too I have mild anxiety but driving with him my anxiety disappeared
