Do you know the rules?

Recently the Queensland Department of Transport and Main roads puliched a reminder on where it is illegal to complete a U-turn. The example below is the most commonly asked question - Can I complete a U-turn at a set of traffic lights?

in most cases you are NOT PERMITTED to make a U-turn at traffic lights. The only exception is when there is a U-Turn permitted sign (See below).

In addition to the traffic light example, you are also not permitted to complete a U-Turn in the following places, unless there is a U-Turn Permitted sign.

- children's crossings
- level crossings
- marked foot crossings
- pedestrian crossings
