Trades and field services
Electricians, plumbers, technicians and mobile service staff may need to drive a work ute or van. Mechanics and vehicle fitters should ask about any test-driving duties.
Construction and site work
Ask which vehicles a labouring or yard role involves, where they will be driven and what training the employer provides. Site machinery can have separate operating requirements.
Logistics and warehousing
A dispatch or general-hand position may include driving between sites. Read the job requirements carefully, including any separate forklift or high risk work licence.
Upgrading from an automatic licence
